WordCamp Venue & Date
The people behind WordCamp Philippines 2008, Mindanao Bloggers Inc. (a non-stock, non-profit entity), have just finished the first organizational meeting. We have not decided yet where the specific venue will be, but it will be in Metro Manila.
Currently we are considering UP Diliman and Ateneo de Manila as potential venues, although we still have to talk to the people in charge. If anyone would like to suggest (or volunteer) a venue, please let us know. It would have to be a place big enough to accommodate around 100 to 150 bloggers (blogger = person + Internet-enabled gadget). We will also need separate meeting rooms, because we will have simultaneous tracks for developers and non-developers.
The date: 25 October 2008 (Saturday).
We will post more announcements in the coming days, especially about calling for speakers, sponsors and volunteers.

Hi guys,
I’m a part-time faculty at the College of Saint Benilde, Taft Ave. I brought this up with our Chairperson and Dean and we are willing to offer the school as a venue.
We have auditoriums as a plenary and rooms for the break-out session/ birds-of-a-feather sessions.
We just need to coordinate for logistics & security concerns.
You may reach me at the email in the form.
In any case, count us in to volunteer and support this Wordcamp.
Cheers!

@rowjie — Looking forward to it myself!
@Dave Quitoriano — Thanks very much! We’ll certainly take this into serious consideration. I will email you soon. (I’m actually quite familiar with the premises, because I’ve participated in one of the Japanese-Language Speech Contests that you host each year.)
