What an incredible two days it was!
WordCamp Philippines 2026 brought the WordPress community together in Iloilo City for two days filled with learning, sharing, collaboration, and plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow WordPress enthusiasts from the Philippines and around the world.
From inspiring talks and hallway conversations to hands-on contributions and new friendships, this year’s WordCamp was a celebration of what makes the WordPress community special: people coming together to learn, contribute, and build something bigger together.
WordCamp Philippines 2026 by the Numbers
Behind every successful WordCamp are the people who make it happen. Here’s a look at some of the numbers that tell the story of WordCamp Philippines 2026.
451 Total Attendees
A total of 451 attendees registered for WordCamp Philippines 2026, bringing together WordPress users, developers, designers, business owners, contributors, community organizers, and enthusiasts.
Out of 451 registered attendees, 434 checked in during the event and joined us in person to learn, connect, and be part of the WordPress community.
At the time the attendance data was recorded, 17 registered attendees had not arrived or checked in.
All 451 registered attendees received their QR check-in emails ahead of the event.
The QR check-in system helped make registration faster and more organized. Attendees could simply scan their QR code when they arrived, allowing the organizing team to track attendance and keep registration information up to date.

The QR check-in system gave the organizing team a real-time view of attendance throughout the event.
At the time the data was recorded:
451 registered → 434 checked in → 17 didn’t attend
This helped the team maintain an accurate record of attendance and made it easier to manage registration throughout the event.
Two Days of Learning and Networking
WordCamp Philippines 2026 brought together 451 attendees, 16 inspirational speakers, and 15 sponsors, with participants representing 15 countries.
Across two days, attendees had opportunities to learn from industry experts, discover new ideas, exchange experiences, meet new people, and reconnect with members of the WordPress community.
But WordCamp was about more than what’s on the schedule.
Some of the most memorable moments happened in the hallways, over coffee, during lunch, and in the conversations between sessions.
These informal conversations created opportunities for attendees to share experiences, ask questions, discover collaborations, and build friendships that can continue long after the event.
Contributor Day: From Attending to Contributing
Before the main conference, Contributor Day gave attendees the opportunity to go beyond simply using WordPress and experience what it means to contribute to the project and its community.
This year’s Contributor Day welcomed 322 contributors, including 260+ first-time contributors, with participants representing 12 WordPress teams.
For many attendees, it was their first experience contributing to WordPress.
With the guidance of experienced contributors and table leads, participants explored different ways to get involved—from contributing to WordPress.org and documentation to supporting community initiatives and other areas of the open-source project.
Contributor Day demonstrated that there are many ways to contribute to WordPress, regardless of technical background or experience.
You don’t have to be a developer to contribute. You can contribute your time, knowledge, creativity, ideas, or simply your willingness to help others.
36 Open Source Library Conversations
One of the highlights of Contributor Day was the Open Source Library, inspired by the Human Library concept.
Instead of borrowing a book, participants could “borrow” a person and have a meaningful conversation about their experiences, career, community involvement, and journey in open source.
We had 36 Open Source Library conversations throughout the event.
These conversations created a space for attendees to learn directly from other members of the community and discover perspectives and experiences they may not encounter in a traditional conference session.
The Open Source Library reminded us that open source isn’t only about code.
It’s about people, stories, knowledge, experiences, and the willingness to share.

More Than a Conference
WordCamp Philippines 2026 was never just about sessions.
It was about the conversations that happened between sessions.
It was about meeting someone for the first time and discovering that you share the same interests. It was about reconnecting with old friends, finding collaborators, asking questions, exchanging ideas, and helping someone solve a problem over coffee.
It was about creating a space where beginners could feel welcome, experienced contributors could share what they know, and everyone could find a way to participate.
Most importantly, it was a reminder that WordPress is powered not only by technology, but by the people who continue to build, support, and contribute to it.
