The spirit of giving is strong in the Philippines, but the digital infrastructure supporting our disaster response and civic organizations remains highly fragmented. Local NGOs and volunteer groups often operate in data silos, hindering rapid coordination.
This talk explores how to solve this by treating WordPress not just as a website, but as a critical edge node in a national civic network. Using Dasig.org as a case study, I will share the “General Contractor” framework, showing how developers and non-technical founders alike can use AI tools like Cursor, Openclaw, Claude Code to architect mission-critical platforms.
We will introduce the vision for a “Civic FHIR”—an open-source, interoperable data standard designed to unify the Philippine civic space. Instead of forcing organizations to abandon their current tools, attendees will learn how to use AI to write custom REST API integrations, securely connecting standard WordPress installations to modern civic ERPs.
Finally, we will break down the “Execution Illusion,” proving that building impactful infrastructure doesn’t require massive budgets and teams, just an obsession with execution and open-source collaboration.
