leokoo.com — Honest notes on WordPress, digital marketing and AI, from a working operator.
Hi, I’m Leo Koo. I’ve been building on WordPress since 2008, and these days I run a digital-marketing agency in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia — WordPress, SEO and content for everyone from small businesses to public-listed companies.
leokoo.com is where I write about that work: honest reviews and field notes on WordPress, digital marketing and AI, drawn from real client sites rather than demo logins. No sponsors deciding the verdict, no hype — just an operator’s take, mistakes and all, written from the Southeast Asian market we both actually work in. If that sounds useful, the best way to follow along is Kopi & Kompas, my newsletter — a short, honest dispatch most Tuesdays on what actually held up in production. You can read the blog and subscribe at leokoo.com.
A quick word on why I’m here. I help organise WordCamps too. I co-led the inaugural WordCamp Malaysia in 2023 and led it in 2024; and on WordCamp Asia I’ve served on the Sponsorship team for Manila and Mumbai, and been appointed Co-Lead of the Sponsorship team for Penang 2027, with Shahjahan Jewel as Lead. So I know first-hand how much quiet, unpaid work goes into a WordCamp, especially a first edition — and backing them, inaugural ones most of all, is my way of paying that forward. leokoo.com has sponsored WordCamp Malaysia twice and the inaugural WordCamp Johor Bahru, and I couldn’t be happier to add the very first WordCamp Philippines to the list.
To the organising team and everyone attending: congratulations on getting the first Philippine WordCamp off the ground. Come say hi if you spot me around, and if you’re building on WordPress here in the region, I’d love to hear what you’re working on.
