Our Venue: College of St. Benilde
Last Saturday, the organizers, joined by coordinators from Manila via online conference, met again to decide on the venue for WordCamp: the College of St. Benilde, Taft Ave., Manila.
We would like to express our gratitude to the administrators of DLS-CSB for generously agreeing — nay, volunteering — to provide their facilities and accommodate the first WordCamp in the country. Our thanks go to Dave Quitoriano as well, who has made this arrangement happen.
WordCamp Philippines 2008 will now certainly be a success! See you all at CSB in September!
Update: 18 July 2008
The WordCamp venue exact address:
Augusto-Rosario Gonzalez Theater
5th Floor, Mutien Building
De La Salle - College of St. Benilde
Taft Avenue, Manila

Wow! This will be so much accessible for bloggers like from the province since CSB is just along Taft Avenue in Manila.

Well at least it is in taft avenue. I agree it is definitely more accessible to those from the province.
But as I pointed out earlier, it should have been held in a central location like Cebu. The people in the Visayas and Mindanao won’t have to spend so much in airfare by going to Manila. Cebu has the facilities and the infrastructure, I think Cebu will be a good venue. But anyway it has been decided already then we will just have to support it.
Besides why do the people in NCR always get the good stuff ? Dapa Probinsya muna !

@Zigfred Diaz — In fact, I think Davao would have been great as a venue because of our year-round good weather, because it is one of the most peaceful cities in the Philippines, because of the presence of so many bloggers here… But, this is the first WordCamp and Metro Manila still holds most of the bloggers and PHP programmers in the country — that is why we decided to hold WordCamp in Metro Manila and not in Davao.

I guess CSB is final then?
I go to school right across the street but what I had in mind was a bit of outdoors and fresh air. Just saying… I’d still go though.

Great, malapit lang sa school.
Sa SDA building ba?
July 18th, 2008 at 2:01 am
I believe that’s the theater in the old building (main CSB campus, not the SDA building).
great venue– CSB is home to courses like multimedia arts and computer applications so it’s something the school would be interested in hosting, and student bloggers attending. i believe a good number of multimedia arts students are actually required to use wordpress on their websites for school.

Hello, can you edit “DLSU-CSB” to “DLS-CSB” because that’s the correct way of referring to College of St. Benilde? Thank you.
