As long as you are passionate about WordPress, you will always have a community to join no matter where you might be in the world.

Of course, that does not mean we only include communities in the WordPress space, though; there are plenty of ‘em in just about any city that also share the same passions for open-source and the open web as much as the most ardent WordPresser!

For this year’s WordCamp Philippines, we would like to introduce you to Community Partners who espouse the same values as we do in WordPress. Get to know them below:

DEVCON Iloilo

DEVCON is arguably the Philippines’ largest non-profit volunteer tech community with eleven chapter-strong member communities composed of around 70,000 developers, IT professionals, and students and educators. DEVCON Iloilo is, of course, its regional counterpart in Iloilo City.

Similar to what the WordPres volunteer communities do in any city, DEVCON Iloilo hosts community events, skills workshops, and large conferences.

If you’re a developer or are aspiring to become one, you might want to hook up with these guys at the Sponsors Hall on Aug. 29. Here’s their official webpage to get started.

ILOVA Community

Concurrent to the rise of the “Work From Home” (WFH) industry is the emergence of the Filipino Virtual Assistant or VA; basically, a remote worker who handles the day-to-day operations of an offshore business ranging from administrative work to social media marketing to, yes, even web development.

ILOVA Community is one of those VA support groups that popped off around 2025. While smaller in scale compared to its nonprofit peers, its mission of emphasizing “community” over “competition” has enabled it to amass a following of virtual assistants and digital professionals who are looking to share, collaborate, and grow alongside their peers.

ILOVA has a members-only Facebook page, while their schedule of workshops and activities can be found on their official Facebook page.

UX Western Visayas

Heavily inspired by the nonprofit User Interface & User Experience (UI & UX) groups from the other Philippine regions, UX Western Visayas is probably the youngest among the three, though it certainly doesn’t lack in ambition.

Their series of UX workshops, in particular, have managed to integrate the heritage-strewn streets of Iloilo City into the problem-solving processes of modern design thinking.

It does sound like it’s a lot to take in. But ask any local who’s lucky enough to have attended any of their limited-capacity events, and you’ll see why they’ve managed to grow a tight-knit community in such a short time.

Announcements of their activities can be found on their official Facebook page.

Thrive Art Projects

They’re an artist-run gallery that uses WordPress to promote the Iloilo art community. That qualifies them enough for this list, if you ask us!

Of course, Thrive is locally known for being more than an art space; they also host themed talks and dialogues where just about anyone is invited!

Their decision to choose WordPress as their platform of choice for selling artworks and featuring the most diverse writing anywhere in the city is an inspired choice, to say the least. Look out for their upcoming Community Partner spotlight!

You can visit their website here.

National Museum of the Philippines – Iloilo

Iloilo City has always been known as a heritage hub, so it’s not surprising that it’s also synonymous with museum culture. As it so happens, the National Museum is one of the most prominent spots on anyone’s “to-visit” list in the city.

NMP – Iloilo has partnered with other cultural and tech projects before, so it’s not out of the realm of possibility why they happen to be one of our Community Partners. And of course, in the age of AI, a little culture would never harm anyone, yes?

You can start scheduling your visit at NMP – Iloilo here!

Iloilo City Tourism and Development Office

Are we just giving you reasons to visit Iloilo City? Well… we’ll let you answer that for yourself.

However, that should not discount what tourism does for the city; as is often the case, businesses start because an entrepreneur happens to have visited a city and found it leisurely and conducive enough to start a venture here!

Indeed, an indirect aim of the Tourism Office is to boost livelihoods to anyone living in the city. And since we’re also working as full-time digital professionals, we’re all for it!

You can start booking with them via their Facebook page!

These are just a small sample of the diverse tech and creative communities you can find here in Iloilo City.
